School age
For parents and carers
We work alongside you and your child’s school to make sure their needs are understood and properly supported. Our team is here to offer clear guidance and practical help, including:
- education advice and information
- support at key transition points (starting school, changing schools, moving to secondary, etc.)
- guidance around behaviour, attendance and exclusions
- support for previously looked after children (PLAC), kinship carers and children with a social worker
- help understanding the Personal Education Plan (PEP) process for children in care

For schools and governors
We partner closely with designated teachers, SENCos and school leaders to ensure children receive the right support at the right time. This includes:
- delivering and quality assuring high quality PEPs
- tracking progress, attendance and engagement
- support with admissions, transitions and reintegration
- training for staff on attachment, trauma and inclusive practice
- offering challenge and professional advice where needed
- supporting behaviour and attendance strategies
Our aim is to help schools create nurturing, stable learning environments for every child.
Pupil premium plus (PPG+)
We provide support so PPG+ funding is used effectively to improve outcomes for children in care and previously looked after children.
This includes:
- allocation and monitoring of PPG+ for children in care
- guidance on making best use of PPG+
- support for schools applying evidence-based interventions
- advice on PPG eligibility and processes for previously looked after children
