Targeted SEND support

Welcome to the targeted section of the SEND platform

This area is designed for children and young people who require additional, targeted support beyond ordinarily available universal provision, but who may not yet need specialist intervention. Targeted support builds on strong inclusive practice and responds to identified areas of need with more focused strategies, adaptations and interventions.

Within this section, you will find a range of more specific resources, guidance and practical support to help early years settings, schools and colleges confidently meet needs at the targeted level. This includes support linked to assessed needs, targeted interventions, graduated approaches and partnership working with families and professionals.

Coming soon – summer 2026

This section is currently in development and will continue to grow throughout summer 2026. New content will include targeted guidance, tools and resources to support effective planning, delivery and review of provision for children and young people with SEND.
