Specialist SEND support

Welcome to the Specialist section of the SEND platform

This area focuses on children and young people with complex, severe or long-term needs who require highly personalised support, specialist provision and, in some cases, coordinated input from specialist services. Specialist support sits at the highest level of the graduated approach and is often delivered through intensive interventions, specialist placements and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

This section will provide a range of in-depth, specialist-level resources, guidance and support to help settings, schools and colleges understand, plan and implement effective provision for learners with the most complex needs. Content will support inclusive practice alongside specialist approaches, multi-agency working and outcomes-focused planning.
