Assess, Plan, Do, Review
The Assess, Plan, Do, Review (APDR) cycle is at the heart of the graduated approach to supporting children and young people with SEND. It provides a structured process that enables schools to identify needs early, implement appropriate support and continuously evaluate its impact.
Rather than a one-off intervention, APDR is an ongoing process of reflection and adaptation. It ensures that support is responsive to the individual needs of each pupil and grounded in a clear understanding of what is working and what needs to change.
